Year 1 and the majority of Year 2 is taught by the School of Life Sciences - which as a whole are not terrible but there is certainly some issues with skills assessments due to the fact we do not follow the exact same pathway. Advisors of Studies are friendly, approachable and helpful. They are willing to help you out or direct you to the people that can help you out. read more

I'd say to anyone applying to university to research their course in detail, find out what modules and topics you'll learn and how you will be tested (i.e. coursework and or exams). I thought that when I applied to this course I would be learning about the field immediately and getting stuck in, I was wrong. First few years are introductory to science in general and not specialised and not always the most fun. Though if you get past that you get to learning about what you are there for and its great. It can be difficult at times as its a lot of information and the human body is complex but once you get the hang of it and understand it gets easier and it becomes so fascinating. read more

As I belong from life sciences background, I was worried to select business as my pathway and Venture capital and private equity as my module. But the first lecture I attended by Professor Renzo Cordina, he was just amazing and explained every thing in such a simplified way. Even the other module - Molecular basis of disease, which i selected was taught so efficiently clearing every basic line. And Scientific methods and skills is so helpful to build your abilities as it solely focuses in our development. No doubt the course is best :) read more

Neuroscience, BSc Hons FullTime

I'm glad to share my thoughts about the neuroscience program at Dundee. As someone who has taken several neuroscience courses at the university, I can confidently say that the program is top-notch. The professors are knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about their field. They are also very approachable and always willing to help students. The coursework is challenging but rewarding, and there are plenty of opportunities for hands-on research experience. The university also has state-of-the-art neuroscience facilities, including a neuroimaging center and a transgenic mouse facility. Overall, I would highly recommend the neuroscience program at Dundee to anyone interested in pursuing a career in this exciting field. read more

Despite other universities in scotland returning to in-person teaching, everything so far has been done online for reasons not many of us can comprehend. My own personal tutor dismissed my mental health as reason to become a remote student (which I became anyway, and my grades have drastically improved as well as my happiness!) and failed to communicate with me in the most crucial of times. But then again, it’s luck of the draw, not all are bad. some profs are great, others not so much… some can be so fun, interactive, and overall a great teacher with whom you form a strong relationship. Others have too much pride and look down on the students who are confused, and others are just downright not good teachers. but like I said above, luck of the draw. I loved my course content, I’ve always been fascinated by science. i am wanting to go into the drug development industry with my degree. read more
