I spent a semester at DKIT as an Erasmus student. I would say that this university is very enriching in terms of practical learning. The only problem with this is that in many cases, practical learning replaces theoretical knowledge, which at my home university was more important. The library and resources were sufficient but not very extensive; similarly, the campus facilities were basic, although there were some technical problems at times. I found the Irish to be culturally friendly, but traditional Irish culture was less evident among the students; most of them were influenced by English culture. Dundalk is a quiet town and finding accommodation can be difficult, although it can be affordable. It was difficult to understand some locals because of the strong accent, but the experience was enriching. DKIT would suit those looking for practical learning and personal development; It is not the best choice for those who want a highly socially and culturally enriching experience.
