Harper Adams is a welcoming, safe and amazing place to be. The friends I have made there will be for life! The learning and the facilities are amazing and it is very good with on the social aspecrt of things!!

Very good university would highly recommend, there is so many likeminded people and it is such a lovely community to be part of.
Great uni and nice people, as it’s primarily an agricultural uni, not the widest range of people but is to be expected, top it’s field and good lecturers really feels like all the staff care about the students and want them to succeed
It’s a great university for students from rural backgrounds, it’s like a home from home
The place is good although there is alot of emphasis on agricultural course than other courses that get shoved out and that as valued from a student point if view especially the dinners and social SU events.
A nice quiet university however without a car you would be pretty stuck. WiFi never works on my laptop but fine on iPad and phone. Library very loud, would nice to be quieter or have a quiet area. Would be nice to have more facilities on campus. SU isn’t great. Tickets overpriced but as it’s the only club around you have to make do.
Harper Adams is a small but tight knit community university that is focused on agricultural degrees, which is complemented by its fully functional on site farm. Majority of the lecturers are kind, helpful and informing and their 3 semester system works well around annual holidays.
Small and friendly university that feels like being part of a family. Great opportunities to learn about the industry and talk to professionals.
Harper is a very welcoming university. The campus is lovely with a mix of modern and older buildings. All staff are really nice and helpful
The facilities such as the gym and sports areas could benefit from updating and expanding to enable my students to participate in sports and other societies, this will also encourage a wider range of societies to be introduced as the current number is very limited. Study spaces and learning facilities are well suited to their use and provide a much needed change of scenery during busy revision periods.
Harper Adams is a home from home. Not only are the facility’s outstanding but also the staff and students are amazing and supportive!
A lovely uni with lots to do and great academic support
Harper Adams is one of the best universities for anything to do with the environment and agriculture. My course is wildlife conservation and environmental management, I’ve had so many amazing experiences and being chair of the conservation society I get to be involved with planning some of those experiences. The SU is pretty amazing with it being student led and our voices are heard. There are loads of cafes and spaces for students to sit and study in quieter areas or busier areas. The library is one of my favourites. The careers aspect of the university is 10/10. A placement job is within the 3rd year of the university course, you yourself has to choose it and go for interviews and write and CV and covering letter and everything but you can get some really amazing opportunities and a possible future graduate job. Harper Adams is all round an amazing university, with inspiring lectures, intriguing course subjects and a fun space to be yourself in.
In my 4th year of uni and wouldn’t want to go to any other uni as the campus and facilities are great

Good range of sports clubs and some societies. Student services very useful, course tutors are very supportive and get to know you on a personal level. Good campus for its size, but can get very loud especially on big party nights. Great for outgoing types, with some things in place for quieter people.
The university has a poor culture that is harmful to the minorities on campus. The agricultural courses are heavily favoured in all decision making that takes place and there is a lack of support for student voice. Would not recommend unless you are a farmer and have a lot of money.
Lovely friendly university, personally I’m not someone to go out on nights out so can’t comment on that. Facilities and teaching are fab
Harper Adams University differs from others with the ability to free roam the campus, witness trials of agricultural machinery and more, an have access to hands-on learning.
The university has a whole is acceptable but there does need to be changes in communication as it is currently poor between staff, resulting in miscommunication to students. Also the behaviour exhibited by students is poor as they have had many circumstances of people doing antisocial behaviour but no punishment is ever given.
The facilities for my course are valuable for practical learning of skills. The addition of the sandwich placement year also helped gain industry experience and better my skills.
Best decision of my life!! Would do it all over again if I could! Have made friends and memories to last a lifetime!
Unique experience, the support services are amazing
Overall a very good university especially for those who have an interest in Agriculture and Farming. Excellent campus and a range of facilities with the town of Newport 5 minutes away. Plenty of free parking which is an added bonus.

A great uni for gaining practical experience and having a clear link from your course to the real world. Setting you up well for after uni.
Good for agriculture and students from a farming background but exclusionary to others with a culture of bullying. Poor range of clubs and societies available. Course management is poor with many irrelevant modules in first and second year - feels like they are just fluffing it up to make it into a 4 year degree when it doesn’t need to be.
The best place to study agriculture they have all the facilities and it is easy to get involved with practical work on the farm. The nightlife is different to city unis but I prefer it because wherever in the SU or Newport you end up you will always find someone you know and it is easy to approach people and make friends.
Good facilities and good teaching
As a recent graduate I cannot think of a better place to study, the teaching and support staff are fantastic. They are on hand to help you with any academic concerns you have throughout all years of study. From a facilities side there is state of the art labs which are really helpful, especially for dissertations, the library is so well equipped for research as well for assignments and exams. The social side is great, the local town of Newport is good fun pubs and bars and the on campus SU nightclub and pub give students a place to meet each week on Wednesday nights as well as the balls the SU put on throughout the year. The wifi is very good considering the rural location and can be accessed throughout the campus and all of the first year accommodation. I would highly recommend Harper to anyone, from all backgrounds with an interest in the course suites Harper has to offer.
My years at Harper have been absolutely amazing! It really does feel like a true 'community'. Harper graduates are also so respected in the real world and the placement year gives you so many opportunities. My lecturers and the support staff have been amazing and being a small campus, the lecturers know you well- you're not just a number on a page! Being rural, the SU is much more developed than the SU's at my friends universities. The welly inn is great for a casual catch up and the legendary balls are brilliant. We literally get fairground rides at our balls! There's also loads of clubs and societies and since I started there's continually been more being added. It isn't just sports clubs, there's also things like gaming, music and conservation. I was really worried when I first started about not having a car but there's a regular shuttle bus and everyone is always lift sharing to go to the shops so I had no issues when I didn't have a car either.
I don’t recommend coming here if you’re not a farmer! Agrics can be very dominating towards animal students - it’s a very niche community. SU is awful at £10 entry and drinks aren’t much cheaper than a normal pub, only open on a Wednesday night, as well as being outdated and poorly managed with balls and events not working out as advertised. Can’t walk anywhere from campus so if you can’t drive you’ll get major cabin fever. Limited clubs and societies. Newport is acceptable, just a normal town, not providing anything special like a city would but Telford nearby is good for that. Accommodation is good and can bring your car. Food can be bought onsite, with a Costa too. Fabulous access to animals ranging from companion to farm and the teaching is excellent with great support from staff and tutors. Depends what you’re looking for in a uni.
The campus has great facilities for the students to use, although there is a lack of societies which are not sport related and the student bar is over priced

Been the best years of my life so far, Harper has so much to offer and there is always people to help you with absolutely anything. Smaller uni in terms of number of students but it makes everything so much more personal and it’s like a family! Great SU events and Newport is small but can always still have a great night out
Needs to focus on what the students want
Excellent uni with excellent student support, campus is excellent, everything being very close. A home from home experience. Only criticism is that rooms are a little dated and need updating.
Amazing rural university that specialises in land based degrees. A modernising campus with a working farm and plenty of space for outdoor practicals. A student union which puts on events that you won’t forget and they’re always looking out for you. An array of clubs and societies. A careers service that looks after you so well and you always know that they’ll be there for you. Good WiFi despite being a rural uni.
Nowhere else I would rather go
Amazing university. It feels like you are one big family. Every lecturer is there to help you grow and helps with whatever issue you have be it academic or personal life issues. They have an amazing careers service thst helped me write my CV to help me find part time work to help me fund my way through university. They also have an amazing mental health service that is available whenever you need them with a short waiting list. It is slightly out from the town but it is a short walk on a footpath or there is a bus available at certain times during the day. There are a range of societies for everyone to try and loads of social events. You will never be bored. Amazing university can't recommend enough

I feel so at home at Harper Adams university, it’s like a huge family and the staff make everyone feel welcome. Tutors are helpful in aiding and encouraging learning and the support available for academic and mental health issues are amazing. I can’t imagine spending my university experience anywhere else but at this small agricultural university in Shropshire.

Harper is the best place to study any of the courses they offer. They have the best facilities and educated staff who want the best for you. It’s reputation amongst the industry is so great and this is reflected in the high employment rate of its graduates. The social side is off the scale but there’s also more chill things to do if you’re into that and they offer everything needed for the best all round student experience. I love Harper!

A unique institution that prides itself on being industry focused in its course design for each subject and it really does show when you go out into the world of work and find all you've been taught is applicable!
After completing my first year at Harper, I can honestly say going to this university was the best decision I made. The facilities for all things animal and agriculture related are second to none, the lecturers and tutors always try their hardest to make you feel confident in the modules, the lectures themselves are interesting and useful. The student union along with its clubs and societies try to cater for everyone which really makes this university stand out. I wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else.
The educational side is brilliant, the SU side is terrible... Freshers are covered in bubble wrap and can't have a good time...

The club's that have the larger numbers of members are only ones who get the recognition and support needed from the SU. The types of clubs and societies available are great; there is a small amount of facilities on campus but I suppose it's only got a small amount of students compared to most.

Most incredible helpful university which has enabled me to experience things I never thought I would! And help me expand my knowledge and writing to a new level!
Staff not very willing to teach us topics and are often late or not even present to exams. No help towards our placement year, myself and others still have nowhere and uni has offered us no help at all. SU is in major debt and has gone down hill dramatically. This uni is not what it seems on the outside. Go elsewhere
A lovely rural campus, although still great access to town, shops, train station and the motorway. All courses are applied with excellent facilities. Clubs and societies for everyone.

Both academic and social experiences are fantastic, Harper has opened up so many career options for me. I actually went through clearing and it’s ended up being the best thing that ever happened to me! Couldn’t see myself anywhere else!!

Four years completed. Awesome uni, great experience and all because of the social side and facilities the university provides. Not like any other uni. Everyone knows everyone, welcoming and friendly especially as being 4hours from home.

Harper Adams is a great university amazing facilities and good lecturers. However, it is a great shame that the university doesn’t have any regard for what the students want. Changing the university and forcing the student union to comply will be the downfall of the university and will see people go to Cirencester in the future.
It’s perfect; there’s enough going on to always be busy and it’s got such community spirit with watching matches and the SU
Harper Adams was the best decision i ever made. I met my closest friends, gained a degree and had the best social life. The lecturers were amazing offering support whenever you needed it for any situation, academic or personal. The sandwich year where you go out for a year on placement offers you experience as well as education outside the lecture halls.

The campus is located in the center of London. It is convenient for students to experience the city while studying. The university provides very useful facilities and students have lots of space either for individual study or group discussions. Various study resources are also easily accessible.
I enjoyed my time here, but felt that the union didn't do enough to involve all its students and I felt slightly isolated
