My course is not exactly what I expected, very finance focused and not much economics. Year 3 modules look better. Teaching quality is quite poor with lecturers using note from 2018 and not updating the information. Been massively impacted by the strikes and quite frankly noone seems to care. read more

There aren't a huge amount of contact hours for this course, ranging from 10-15 hours or so a week so you will find you have a lot of free time, but this can be useful because the course has a lot of coursework based modules. There is a great variety of content, each week has a mixture of lectures, seminars and practical workshops which are really interesting, for example some workshops may be on the specialist CAD computers learning how to use photoshop and Illustrator and others may be in the dyehouse doing more technical and scientific experiments. One great thing about the course is you can change to any of the other fashion courses after the first year if you decide so don't worry if you aren't 100% sure on which you want to do. The option for a placement year in 3rd year is a great opportunity to get experience and often leads on to job offers for when you graduate which is super useful. As a BSc programme there is some technical/scientific aspects but nothing too difficult. read more

As the only Russell Group uni offering a BSc in this course its very popular and of great quality. The course content is varied and exciting, with units from all 4 fashion disciplines in first year to give a wider understanding in general, increasing employability skills. There is access to great technology - with some coursework completed in CAD workshops (photoshop and Illustrator) as well as working with the weaving and knitting machines which provides hands on teaching. The lectures are interesting and the timetable has a nice variety of workshops, lectures, seminars and meetings with personal tutors. read more

My course is not on the list so i randomly pick one. The university's focus appears to prioritize business over student care. For instance, basic necessities like toilets and study areas are consistently unclean. Despite the substantial fees we pay, the benefits we receive from the university are quite limited. Opportunities such as access to sports clubs and free classes are scarce. The only redeeming factor seems to be the university's reputation, which unfortunately does not translate into practical skills for the working field. The education provided tends to be academically focused rather than practical in nature. read more

Awful course. No support at all and the teaching is none of existent. You go to lectures to be read some sub par information off slides to then go home and have to teach yourself absolutely everything. Haven’t enjoyed a single lecture or module because teaching staff are so unengaging. I feel so disappointed by my experince here considering Manchester has such a well regarded business school- dunno how the hell they’ve got that reputation. I’m not paying to learn my degree, I’m paying for a piece of paper. Literally. Wouldn’t recommend, wish I went to Newcastle. I hate it and have considered dropping out about 739 times and only just finished my second year (god knows how) read more

Although this course sounded absolutely amazing, there was no practicality and was definitely not worth the 9250 grand a year! I was in for 11 hours a week and felt like I had no support. So little work was set that I ended up just sitting around getting lonely as everyone else was busy with their course. I had a small class but still didn't bond with anyone as everyone kept to their selves. There was no effort from the course to make us talk to each other. read more
