This programme is designed for students whose level of Mandarin Chinese at entry ranges from complete beginner to approximately A-level standard. It is not suitable for students whose first language is Chinese. We prefer students to offer at least one Humanities subject at A Level.

I enjoy my course, however the language part of it is not taught well in my opinion. The topics are quite boring, and it does not always feel like the teachers are teaching at the university level. For a language course, it does not feel like the language is used much at all, which is extremely unfortunate as that is the most important part of learning a language. read more

Great lecturers and tutors- most content is based on expanding common knowledge and enhancing skills of discussion, argument and analysis. No different from a English Literature or History course, and shares many modules with these Degrees anyway. Content ranges from topics you likely know if you took History or English at A-Level to more niche and interesting modules especially during 2nd year focused on America! read more
