The university is very expensive in general, the area and also any extra-curricular activities have extra costs - you basically pay for the name, but it's a good name to have! The rankings are high for psychology and compared to others universities I think that you do stand a higher chance of getting a job after graduating just because you went to Royal Holloway. You do also get the London rate loan. There are fewer contact hours than at other universities that I've heard of, but the tutors will be available for you, and so far all that I've asked have been very helpful and very willing to help. They tell you everything that you need to know despite having less contact hours. My friend studies psychology at Portsmouth and they have more hours, but far few assessments. This might sound good but it actually just means that you have no idea how you are progressing and there is a lot of pressure at the end! You choose options in 3rd year so you cover the content you enjoy. Also very pretty! read more

As an international student, the fees are triple the fees for domestic students. And for that money, you get 2 professors who are actually good at teaching and others who read from slides once a week. I find the course content very applicable and structured nicely. There are practical classes, where the teachers are psychology doctorate candidates, who I'm sure have a lot of knowledge in their field, but do not know the first thing about teaching. About job prospects, probably with a psychology bachelor's degree from any university, you cannot get any job right after graduation, so you need to keep studying and if you're lucky you can find a non-paid internships, that require you to work unreasonable hours. I cannot imagine how they think we're going to survive. read more
