Great course with amazing field trips to Spain and South Africa. We've repeated some content, and I've had some very negative experiences with certain modules' content relating to assignments - GIS module had us only doing half the lectures compared to other modules, then being marked on how good we could teach ourselves the main subject and being assessed primarily on content that did not appear in lectures. I have also had negative experiences on field trips - South Africa was a cold cliquey work environment with both student and staff that I wouldn't want to do again with NTU.

It is a very interesting course, however as a very practical job sector, much more practical experience was expected. There should be more interactive and creative ways used to teach- rather than just running through a PowerPoint. read more

Friendly lecturers, good teaching styles, always happy to help or answer any quieries, seems quite selective on which emails they reply to in my experience though, some things you will hear back from within the day and others will be weeks depending on the topic. Course has some interesting modules but we were asked to buy overalls and steel toe caps at the start of the year and have yet to use them as have had no practicals on the animal centre and these weren’t cheap! read more

Good coverage of UK systems. Depth of knowledge learnt in data processing is good but with GIS skills I am not confident that enough was in place to make students ready to use it confidently in the future in the ecology field. Assessments are not exam heavy, relying on reports that you may have to write if working in the ecology field. read more

My course addresses the most pressing and relevant issues in conservation, both global and domestic, and the lecturers are highly knowledgeable in their fields with years of experience which allows them to contextualise topics in an easy to understand way.
