I absolutely love studying at NTU because it has a great Institute for Education and all the lecturers are really supportive. There is a lot of contact time, and even when we are not in university sessions, lecturers are contactable by email and Microsoft Teams if you need support. I also find the content of the degree really interesting and incredibly valuable with regards to up-to-date research in the field of teaching and education. Everything that I have learnt; whether that be in university or out on a school placement will help me in my future career as a teacher. read more

We are given experience in writing for very varied forms, narrowing down to those that we are more interested in in later years. This allows us to develop general skills as well as pursue what is most interesting to us, this helps us stay engaged in our studies. We also get practical experience of several roles in the creative sector and what will be expected of us within them. They let me switch from Psychology to English and Philosophy 2 months in. I've been doing my best with what I've found online but have not been offered much help or guidance for catching up, even when I've asked various people multiple times. The content however is amazing! Very vast, modern and stimulating, so this alone inspires me to carry on. I really enjoy the lectures too, so much more than I did for psychology. read more

English is a bore. There must be about over 20 lecturers, half of which don't ever know what they're talking about. I get exhausted within the first five minutes, and seminars are pointless. The content is amazingly boring. I loved English, but the course has made me want to quit. Philosophy is far better. There is a lot more substance. Seminars are just as pointless and the content could be made more interesting. Lecturers are also much better. Overall, the bad rating is more in regards to the English side of it. Just a shame that you can't do philosophy as a whole degree. read more
