The course is great, some parts are more enjoyable than others but overall my personal tutor is great and the support from staff is also good. I did my foundation year in Covid Lockdown so the value for money wasnt great because we barely came into campus and this made the year challenging.
How do I apply and how easy is it to get in?

Now starting my second year, after doing a foundation and first year. The facilities are great. Modern building with modern equipment. The lab technicians are absolutely amazing and often are a lot more helpful than the lecturers. The course syllabus however is pretty lacking when compared to other universities. I do not know how this course is IET accredited - the first year modules missed out SO much content, and they hardly gave any practical demonstrations of the theory whatsoever. As well as missing valuable content, some of the practical labs we did made no sense; our coursework for the electrical systems module had several errors in it. It felt like the modules were written 5 years ago and nobody has ever checked that they're OK... there is a massive imbalance in difficulty from the electrical modules to the mechanical, maths and physics etc. EEE exams are open book and very easy. The rest are challenging! They need more practical examples and labs, longer lectures etc. read more

I’ve loved my time studying EEE here at NTU, the engineering department is a great place to be, there’s always something interesting going on to get involved with, plenty of large scale industrial “toys” to fall in love with, and the staff are incredibly lovely! Props to the tech team for dealing with me and my many random requests for help and components and always being around to help with projects, academic or personal read more
