I am grateful to have taken the opportunity to study on this course as i get to know what i’m signing up for as a career and get to look around at other options within the sector too. I was surprised to see my timetable to bare and to be in early hours only. It feels although some module tutors are reading off the powerpoint as though we are being spoken about it rather than learning the content.

The architecture course at Northumbria is one of the best around. It includes a couple of lectures a week, but most hours are spent in the studio where practical work takes place, and you can spend as long as you want in the studio getting hands on with the work. The lecturers/tutors are always nearby so you can ask for help whenever you need it. The course is more flexible than others in the sense that it is solely coursework based so you can work at your own pace (to some degree), as long as you meet the guidelines. The tutors will give you plenty of encouragement that makes you want to just keep on working and getting your ideas out. The lectures are very useful at providing information or tips that you could include in your work that you produce in the studio. read more
