Children's Nursing, BSc Hons FullTime
The 6 c’s of Nursing is Care, Compassion, Courage, Communication, Commitment and Competence. You will not find compassion nor care at this course. The support in this course is poor and they are quick to point fingers and blame you for your faults. They build such a large expectation for nursing and ultimately punish you if you are not perfect. I’m writing this review, not be cruel, but to give people a different insight to the course. Don’t expect sympathy or pity from the staff, don’t believe them when they say they’re approachable and don’t expect them to take your side. Everyone in the course eventually slips and makes a mistake, minor or major, and you can bet that you will be questioned on your professionalism and skills as a student nurse. We’ve all made the mistake of relying on our personal tutor at a time of need and we’ve all learnt it the hard way that no one was on your side from the start. read more
Midwifery Practice, BSc Hons FullTime
The course content is better than most unis considering that LSBU isn't a russel group. I was pleasantly surprised. Occasionally the lecturers are a bit bland but beyond that, it's really good! Midwifery as a degree will consume a lot of your time and therefore isn't always worth it when you think about the hours you work in placement and how you don't get paid at all. However, you can get a job immediately after graduating. read more
