Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.
Nice place, but can have a lot of dodgy or just plain annoying people about. People are nice but mainly playing on Wednesdays, Wardens are chill people and do their job. Decent value for money, nice size rooms and furniture. Experiance: :') just for fun and what you can expect : -people set fire works off under windows here and on west side... As there is no security in these parts as its not on centre campus. -police pass with alarms on super regular right our side (a road passing ) -someone drove into the gate oposit the entrance and just left.... Nice dent there now. Their number was trashed form it. -religious group followed a group of us early morning , won't take no thanks as an answer. -dorms alarm goes off often, we though it was because people were smoking in their rooms. Turned out to be a faulty Alarm ! I guess all I'm asking is a little more regulation , may be a night guard or something with their own pertch.
East Parkside village is cheap and serviceable but with absolutely no quality of life additions, due to the low price. The rooms are fairly small, but not suffocating. the kitchen has two of every machine you could need (fridge, oven, etc.), so that's a plus. The location is pretty terrible though, it's really ugly and honestly quite unsettling at night due to a large amount of kids using the area as a hang out spot. Overall, it's cheap, and you get what you pay for.
Found a heroine needle outside. Can provide an image
Everything is bad basically.

I enjoy my halls of residence just wish it could be a bit modern and also to have a better social area
Loved my halls! I met amazing people and had a lovely room and excellent facilities
