Academics make the course very engaging. They also help with career opportunities by organising festivals such as HANS with the careers service. Academics are always on hand should students require help with the module leaders and several others holding weekly office hours for students only. The assessments set are challenging which help students develop their knowledge but there is assistance available if the student requires it. Wide range of learning formats from lectures to lab sessions to problem based learning. The Professional Skills module helps students develop their professionalism as well as their critical thinking and analysis skills through presentations/projects. The degree is IBMS accredited which is perfect for those who want to advance onto a career path of a biomedical scientist. Lastly, there is an opportunity for a placement year which allows students to have a feel of what it is like in industry, in a hospital or in a research lab. read more

Where to begin with? The fact that you pay 9000 pounds to be only told which book to study from ?Or the fact that lectures last less than they actually should and some of the valuable information on board is skipped. The crown, though, is when it comes to practice lessons! The actual intention behind them is to have the student examined based on newly, from the same day, information. (students are expected to know most of the material which makes this course somewhat a revision). Apart from this, there is, in fact, job prospect, the starting salary of which is quite decent but one should not expect to get rich in the first years of work. read more
