I have a bone to pick with the old ways, therefore what someone else would view as very good quality teaching and course content, or value for money would be different to me. I value progress, new ideas, and change, but often I felt I was marked down for attempting to explore this route. I felt I was rewarded for regurgitating ideas others had already said, and not necessarily praised and acknowledged for trying something new, or being daring. There is also the fact that the old ways doesn't mean the good ways. I think it's wrong to expect a mental breakdown while writing your dissertation, but while we stick to the old ways, we force students to have to fit a mould that isn't necessarily their shape, and what value they could bring with their individual voice, style, and experience is lost. I was also lucky with my tutor - they were supportive of my voice read more
