I'm so happy with the course content of the degree I followed. All my lecturers were exceptionally good! I Love the built environment and the soft and hard landscapes of the university of Portsmouth of the university which is an ideal for students , to do their studies and enjoy the life. And I'm extremely glad about the guidance provided by the advisers of Careers and the Employability Centre with regards to the business ideas!!!! The support given by the University Student Wellbeing service is excellent too!!! The university library is full of resources and staff is amazingly supportive! read more

I started my university journey in 2019 (BA in International Relations) and now studying for my MRes and starting my PhD in October 2024. I received great support from all my lecturers, especially both my undergraduate and my MRes supervisor. The university provides excellent Student Wellbeing Service and Student Engagement Officers (who are always there for you if you cannot get through counselling immediately, they provide all types of support so that you feel safe, happy and enjoying your university experience). The Careers Team is also remarkable, they organise many events and call in employers from different companies for graduate recruitment and any sessions. I have attended many of their sessions and always found them very helpful and insightful. The library staff is also very sweet and welcoming, never had any complaints. They immediately help you order any books and loan them if needed. I love studying here and it's a perfect city with both peaceful and entertaining places! read more

Joining this university has been a bit of a rollercoaster. While it is great that the city is a seafront and the university staff are very helpful, there is a limit to how valuable portsmouth university can be. First of all, because of the city's location, there is a shortage of jobs here, which makes finding a part-time job that much harder. Secondly, coming from India, there is a huge cultural shift that international students experience after coming here regarding everything. For the reasons listed above, I would not recommend the university to anyone who is not strong-willed, already experienced, and/or has a concrete plan of their career progression. read more
