Midwifery, BSc FullTime

The course is intensive but rewarding, and I’ve felt well-supported by my PTs throughout. The lecturers are knowledgeable and passionate, and the content is well-structured and relevant to practice. However, more frequent tutorials or access to lecturers would have been beneficial, especially during high-pressure periods. Often our lectures are very fast and require a lot of outside reading. I’ve rated job prospects slightly lower—not due to the course quality—but because of the uncertainty surrounding job availability in our final year. Like many of my peers, I was under the impression that completing this degree would almost guarantee employment upon graduation, which does not feel the case. I understand this is part of a wider national issue, but it has still caused considerable stress for students preparing to qualify. Overall, the course has been a valuable and enriching experience, with room for more consistent support and clearer communication around graduate pathways. read more

Good quality of teaching and content. Placements are a nightmare, no equality between of travel time/distance throughtout the course, no help with finding accomodation, if you have a problem sometimes serious issue dont bother trying to get help because you rarely get it, contact with tutors with sporadic at best even when having a serious issue. Admin can be nasty in their contact, all submitted paperwork needs to be scanned for your own piece of mind as if they lose something, if you can confirm its existence dont expect apologies. read more
