lecture and seminar leaders on the course are fairly hit and miss. Some of them are very engaging and seem to genuinely enjoy the teaching element of their job. These types of staff are the people I expected to be leading undergraduate courses. On the other hand, some are completely bored by their job. Some seem to just view ther responsibilities as a chore that gets in the way of their research. These lecturers are appalling and incredibly frustrating. They seem to have an air of utter contempt for you if you disagree with them or are not the best academic that has ever stepped foot in their seminar group. During my time at Uni I never met my personal Tutor once, largely because I kept being given a new one each year anyway, read more

Okay so far, 1/5 seminar tutors doesn't do any prep and we sit in silence throughout the whole seminar. The rest are fine. Lectures can get boring, but in first year you skip most of them as long you catch up with the work. read more
Politics and Economics, BA Hons FullTime
As a fresher you get little value for money and have little contact with your personal tutor; mainly because the first year is too easy for most. However as you advance towards your final year they both improve massively, with your personal tutor playing a key role in your final year. Teaching is strong and the course material offers a good variety allowing students to take their own path in developing their own thoughts around the subjects, though admittedly for a duel honours there could be better links between the 2 schools. Considering the average economics graduate from Uni of Nottingham earns £30,000 (well over the avg National starting salary), this is testament to how good the careers services are. read more

Love the course, however for the amount you pay you don't really see the contact hours. Staff are great but too many people have been let into university thus they can't cater for everyone. read more
