Compared with a lot of other universities teaching the psychology degree, UoG teaches you quantitative and qualitative methods from the first year, as well as the philosophies underpinning each side; allowing you to truly choose which path is right for you, aswell as be able to critically critique which approach is better for what subject. Truly, I believe this institute is the only one where students are able to develop such critical thoughts about research so early on an question their own philosophy, and all of this is due to the amazing variety of different lecturers. From the extremely positivist to the extremely relativist, and all of then are more than happy to discuss their position and interests in research (as well as why they chose their position). The intake is small so you can be very personal with the lecturers who will easily remember you and even kick off some professional rapport. This means that you can truly be informed with which path you wish to take! read more

I really really enjoy this course. It's one of a few psych courses in the country that has a really strong focus on critical psychology which is extremely valuable in the discipline. The content covered so far has been interesting, and modules in years 2 and 3 look good too. The academic staff are really nice too, they're really helpful and are just generally really nice people. read more
