It had been only two weeks since the start of my course and I am really enjoying it. The campus is perfect with a lot of support and guidance provided by the guild members of the society. The WiFi service available in the university is outstanding as it helps in accessing the canvas page during the lectures so as to have good understanding of what is being taught in lectures. Initially moving to a new country was a frightening experience but the support at the university helped me a lot in settling here. read more

Good university, some times can feel a bit cold in terms of the environment, as the stress is on academic success and careers, sometimes this can be overwhelming. Campus is pretty and there are plenty of study space. Teaching is decent, most lectures and seminars are engaging and easy to follow. Available office hours with lecturers to book if you cannot grasp a topic, although these are only 10 minutes unfortunately. read more

The student body is huge, bur it could be more refined. Less people means making more friends. More people means you can’t make friends that well, so that kind of sucks. read more

My first year at uob was amazing, I couldn’t have been happier that I decided to study here. The campus felt massive during the first few weeks and the facilities in every building is of a high standard- I’d rarely see any technology that doesn’t work (every computer, automatic door, swipe access gates worked). The university station is a big plus as well for me because I commute into uni and taking the train is perfect since it has more of a regular schedule than buses (so I don’t have to stress over the timing haha). The university career networks is the best thing for me as well since I’ve discovered so many opportunities for jobs that are associated with science. I do love the uob societies as well, I love the diversity in cultures and backgrounds especially. I feel more comfortable and like I fit in when I’m at kcover (society) for example. read more

I have loved it so much I have stayed for my undergrad, postgrad masters and now just about to start my PhD. I have learnt so much throughout my university experience and Birmingham really offers everything. I an a keen member of the university athletics club which has been a huge part of my university experience, especially helping navigate my first year which was in 2020 during the pandemic. The research facilities are incredible and I’ve had the opportunity to experience real life science and develop my lab skills all throughout my undergrad and postgrad degrees. I have found the university library facilities amazing with 24-hours access making it the perfect place to work whenever. I have also had the opportunity to work at the university during the 2022 commonwealth games in the athletes village which was hosted in the vale. This was an incredible once in a life time experience where I felt so proud to be part of Birmingham university. read more

I love the vibes on campus, everyone is extremely friendly and inviting. The students’ union is so so helpful and easy to talk to. The range of societies and clubs are so interesting and diverse though there are some that unfortunately close down due to lack of members which is so unfortunate. Overall my experience so far at UoB has been fantastic and I can’t wait to experience the uni life here further. read more
