Philosophy and Psychology, MA Hons FullTime

Doing this as a joint degree is a good option as the psychology component is accredited. Can be a lot of reading at times, and deadlines often clash between both courses (I had five assessments in under two weeks) but it pays off. Tutors for both courses are normally really great. I would say if you haven't studied a lot of philosophy in school/college it's a hard transition and the standard of essays is high but because of the feedback improvement comes easier. Only downside is the philosophy department participates in a lot more strikes than the psychology department. Psychology is truly stats heavy though, so if maths isn't a strong point it might be a bit more difficult to keep on top of it but some of the tutors are really great at making stats lectures engaging. Psychology stats tutorials are some of the most fun ones though (if you like data). read more
