The uni needs a history and theory masters. Lecturers are good, some go above and beyond to help their students.I have come across some that have been pretty inconsiderate towards my feelings and other students feelings (although these individuals are in the vast minority) - through being overly harsh with criticism that was far from constructive, or just a general lack of empathy towards personal situations (of other students). I feel a pressurising environment combined with this sort of occasional misconduct from specific individuals contributes greatly to an overall breeding ground for poor mental wellbeing. Truth be told most people in the course actually suffer from one type of mental illness or another , whether it is anxiety , depression or something else. If you were to ask most and receive an honest answer from everyone you would find this to be the case. I feel this is primarily due to art being a form of communication for those who struggle to express something with words. read more
