I'm a current MA Concept Art student. The professors on the course are amazing and integrate Career Advice via visiting lecturers/portfolio reviews into the program syllabus. External events such as Animex and Gamebridge are made easy to attend and the organizers tend to work well with campus staff to ensure as many students from relevant fields are able to attend for free. The facilities are fairly well outfitted to student needs. Tech/IT is very responsive in case of server outages or program issues. At times it can be hard to know when rooms are being used for teaching but professors are always gracious and offer any available computers should you need to use them. The Student Union is very robust and hosts every society and club you could think of and adds new ones all the time and has a well equipped shop with lots of good and cheap art supplies. Career Services does their best but my particular program is tricky to find placements given the current industry. read more

Currently studying concept art as a first year and am really loving it! All the lecturers and tutors have been incredibly friendly and helpful and the modules have been really fun! I’m only in my first semester so we’ve been mostly doing introductory work, but concept art pre production and life drawing have been perfectly challenging and engaging. The campus itself is nice, always kept clean, and you always feel safe walking round even in the late hours of the morning. read more

I started here in September of 2024, I honestly did not know what to expect while being at University but so far it has lived up to my expectations. While being in my course, Information Technology (IT) I have learned so much. The way the tutors teach is significantly greater and more in-depth than the likes of being at college / sixth form and the information that they give you is much better. Furthermore, all the tutors are very supportive with anything, if you need help on any topic they are there to support you, and if you need help with something that is outside of university, you are able to get the help that you need. You are even able to get help to apply for jobs, CV help, and anything of that sort. I am enjoying my time here and would recommend it to anyone who wants to study IT. read more

Teesside University's School of Computing, Engineering & Digital Technologies (specifically in my case Civil Engineering), has provided me with a great opportunity to develop my technical skills and gain academic research experience. The course is well thought and provides a good mix of both soft skills (i.e., group work, time management, technical writing, etc.), and industry specific skills (i.e., applied mathematics, structural analysis, hydraulics, etc.). Lecturers and course leaders are approachable and have the students best interests and progression in mind when delivering content. Throughout the course, there has been opportunity to hear from industry partners, Engineers working on real projects, and the potential of visiting live construction sites. Labs are equipped with suitable technology to provided students with a positive experience similar to that of an actual workplace, technicians are friendly and understanding of students experience. read more

Review of Teesside University, Middlesbrough Teesside University offers a beautiful campus with modern facilities, making it an attractive place to study. The campus is well-equipped, offering excellent academic resources such as state-of-the-art libraries, research labs, and numerous study areas that cater to a wide range of disciplines. The teaching staff is highly qualified and approachable, ensuring that students receive quality education and support throughout their academic journey. Additionally, the university provides a conducive learning environment with a strong focus on research, encouraging students to engage in innovative projects. However, as an international student, I have noticed one concerning issue. There seems to be a division between international students, particularly those from countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nigeria, and the local and European students. The classes are often split, which creates an uncomfortable feeling of separation and does read more

The university usually markets itself as the best university in the world before receiving any money. However, especially for international students, the document processing can be delayed for a long time, such as 1 month. This not only makes them fall behind in their education but also makes it difficult to make friends. The shock of coming to another country brings many problems with it. The accommodation units of the university are definitely inadequate and most students have to look for houses in remote parts of the city. It is also quite difficult to find a job. Nevertheless, it has a system that deserves to be among the best in England in terms of education. After that, its very positive feature is that it is located in a small and cute city and in a very airy place. In addition, the university authorities, especially the units such as the student life center and international student admissions, are absolutely helpful and do their job with a smile regardless of the person. read more

I am on the BEng Tech (Hons) top up online course. I find the learning materials poor quality. The audio files are of a lecturer in a classroom wandering around. Often indistinct and therefore impossible to follow. I have given up listening to them. The PowerPoint files are of poor quality and difficult to interpret. Support by the nominated lecturer is non-existence and when reluctantly given, unhelpful. I would strongly recommend not taking the BEng Tech (Hons) top up degree here. You have been warned! read more

Beware of this university they will actually ruin your life if you are an international student seeking for a better life for you and your family before you think I am a disgruntled student have a look at the recent news about how they have been kicking students out for no reason. I am unfortunately a victim of this where there is so many racism within the university facilities. Many international students are failing miserably here and they have been marking people of colours very harshly compared to the locals (no hate tho). These tutors and second markers are aware of how much trouble they will put students into when failing them unnecessarily. So please save your money elsewhere because coming here is basically setting yourself up for failure. read more

As someone hailing from Kerala, India, I found it pleasantly surprising that cultural differences weren't a barrier, and everyone was treated with equal respect. Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed the library, sports and recreational areas, and the class room area provided a perfect space to mingle with friends. Additionally, post graduate society weekly activities helped combat any feelings of homesickness. I wholeheartedly recommend this campus to both local and international students. read more
