Came to study in Swansea in 2022 and really enjoyed the city and the university with its library by the sea and friendly staff and lecturers. Very intense pace of study but gave lots of challenges. 2023 was my second year at university and I learnt more in depth and got to know lots of interesting content. For example, I learnt about game theory and databases, and it felt like the process of learning was also learning about history and exploring what people had researched before. This year is the last year of university and begins a stage in my life where I have to choose between working or continuing my studies. The university has given a lot of help such as help with writing CVs, and many meetings to help students. read more

Honestly it’s a normal uni experience, in the med school the lecturers are very supportive so that’s a highlight but being in my last year I’m used to it all now and am ready to move on. If I was talking to an applicant I would recommend it as a university. The main downside is actually more to do with how people interact with eachother nowadays, so ignoring that it’s great! read more

Student support Is limited at times and certain faculty can lack empathy towards students. Despite this, university societies are excellent and are a great way to maintain a good work-life balance read more

The campus itself is brilliant. The facilities are endless, with many places to study, eat and chill out. The campus is very clean at all times. Student services are excellent with helping students with any issues they have and will go above and beyond for them. The only issue i’ve come across is that the wifi can be unreliable - which is not ideal in a learning environment. As far as societies and clubs go, there is a huge range to chose from. read more

As a student at Swansea University, I can genuinely say that my time here has been an incredible chapter of personal and academic growth. Studying Business at Swansea has been both challenging and rewarding, with passionate lecturers and a curriculum that blends theory with real-world application. The campus facilities, especially the business school's lecture halls and resources, are top-notch, and the supportive academic staff make it easy to reach out for guidance when needed. One of the highlights of my time at Swansea has been playing hockey. Joining the university hockey team not only allowed me to stay active but also introduced me to an amazing community of like-minded, friendly people. Balancing sports with academics taught me valuable lessons about time management, teamwork, and determination—skills that I know will serve me well in the future. The location of Swansea University is another standout feature. The Singleton and Bay Campuses are just a stone's throw from beauti read more

My experience at Swansea University has been mainlh positive. The academic staff are knowledgeable and supportive, and my course has been very enjoyable. Facilities provided on campus are well-equipped, though there’s room for improvement in study spaces during exam season. The campus has a vibrant atmosphere with plenty of extracurricular activities, and the support services for students, such as career advice are very helpful. Overall, it’s a great place to study and grow academically and personally. read more
Swansea University
Swansea University has been a fantastic place to study, offering a supportive academic environment, a beautiful location, and a strong sense of community. The lecturers are great, and the facilities, especially on Bay Campus, are modern and well-maintained. However, there are areas where the university could improve. Many societies and events are heavily focused on Singleton Campus, making it challenging for Bay Campus students to participate. This creates a feeling of disconnection for some students, myself included. The WiFi on campus could be more reliable, especially because a majority of my peers struggle to connect to edurodam and are often using the free slow WiFi One area I feel strongly about is the need for more direct career advice integrated into the curriculum. While career services are available, emphasising practical career preparation and advice into our courses would better equip students for the transition into the workforce/ life after uni. read more

Swansea University is an amazing place to study! I study Aerospace Engineering at Bay Campus, where we have state-of-the-art facilities, such as the second-largest wind tunnel in the UK and two flight simulators (named Maverick and Goose). The campus is also located on the beach, meaning after lectures you can go watch some of the most beautiful sunsets over the sea. There is also a pool table, table tennis tables, 5-aside football pitches and a basketball court to spend your breaks having fun and get you meeting new people. There are also some nice study places and a beautiful library with regular upgrades. The only downside is that it can get quite busy, especially close to exams, but there are always other places you can go on campus. The biggest downside for me is that most societies happen on the Singleton Campus which takes a while to get to from the Bay Campus (40 min bus). But there is still a nice gym and a sports hall on the Bay Campus. Overall though, it is lovely. read more
