All the staff are lovely and clearly care about their jobs. They reply to queries fast and are happy to help. The course flows well and even during Covid allows for optimal on campus time. The prospects look really good especially given the uni allow us to pursue our own placements (allowing us to go into our desired industries) read more

The course is difficult if you don't have prior knowledge to most of the contents which would need you to put a lot of time into studying them. I personally don't have a personal tutor, while some people in my course have them, but the advice from teachers are really helpful in one to one conversations which I can appreciate. Overall, meh, it's engineering. read more

This course has so much variation instead of targeting the subject area. If they spent more time teaching what you were there for it would be a lot better. Instead it focuses on subjects like management which is seen as "you will know when you become a manager". If I wanted to be a manager then id be doing management. What I would call the core subject, I.E. subjects that are Electrical or electronic are taught by people who give the impression that can't be bothered. They turn up 20minutes late with a cup of tea, sit with their feet up and speak about their car. Maybe they should spend some time actually teaching. Project supervisors steer you onto a subject that is nothing to do with your course and you've never done or had experience in to date. You point this out but they don't listen, They promise to give you help and then go awol. No help and no support. Point this out and get told "you need to arrange a time to meet". I did but they don't turn up. Shocking read more

Due to getting shafted in my desertation and my grades in the final year being bad as a result I have now got no prospects since employers all look for 2:1 or better. As a result of this the course was a total waste of money, at least the 4th year was. Some of the teachers are very good though but the few bad apples spoil it. Example is one lecturer who comes in 20 minutes late and just sits with his feet up speaking about his car. In 13 weeks, of 4 hour lectures we had 2x 10 minute curse relavent lectures. Others though cram so much into their lectures and still offer to go past their time or arrange extra to cover other stuff. Content was mostly relevant. Quite a lot of management in the course which is great if you want to be a manager or start a business, not really anything to do with electronics though. I believe this is to get the accreditation from the IEEE. There is also a module in the final year about optical and radio communications that they can't be bothered running. read more
