“ARU has a good sized facility, including a whole separate facility for the healthcare course that’s well equipped at the Cambridge site. The societies/clubs have been a lot of fun. Namely, the sports clubs, in my case taekwondo. I have met so many friends here, and had the opportunity to participate in fun events like competitions and dinners and other social events. It’s also allowed me to grow, as I never thought I could actively take part in such a sport, but it has been encouraging and fun”

“Arts University Plymouth is a small university run by artists for artists. It is the place to be as a creative. The facilities are incredible and no matter what course you study, you are able to use any facilities on workshop Wednesday's to experiment your practice further. The tutors care so much about the students and push you to be your best self. Due to it being a small university, I have found that the contact time i have with my tutors is 100 times more than my friends had with their tutors who studied in London, Brighton etc. Nothing is too much for them.”

“I feel that the negative reviews come from those with the wrong expectations of Birkbeck going in to the course. How on earth can you slate the facilities and societies when you have access to all that UCL has to offer, should you be willing to enquire? You also have a second campus in Stratford, should you live in east London. The course is catered for those with busy lives, and those looking to progress in their career. For this reason, Birkbeck has a huge advantage over other uni's for older students who are career orientated. They help you find jobs, with regular workshops and opportunities to meet those in a wide range of careers. Your day is free to intern/ volunteer/ gain work experience which is a rare luxury at university.”

“This is my second uni and I love essex uni so much. The social life is amazing with sub zero being the on campus club being open most days of the week. Sport is for everyone and a lot of my friends are my mates because I joined a sport. The accommodation is good. Campus is huge and so many options for things to do. Multiple restaurants on campus too. My course lectures are so good ( I do nursing ) and very supportive. I’m very happy at this uni :)”

My course is wildlife conservation and environmental management, I’ve had so many amazing experiences and being chair of the conservation society I get to be involved with planning some of those experiences. The SU is pretty amazing with it being student led and our voices are heard. There are loads of cafes and spaces for students to sit and study in quieter areas or busier areas. The library is one of my favourites. The careers aspect of the university is 10/10…”

“The waterside campus of University of Northampton is beautiful. Currently I am pursuing MSc Project management. There are numerous student groups and organisations at my university, but I have not participated much. There are numerous possibilities for student housing, but early reservation is required. The university's Change maker hub is organising a career expo and placement opportunities, and they are assisting students with their CVs and career paths. The students' union organises several events for students. Multiple communities exist at the university to engage international students in various activities. The Unitemps staff will assist us in finding part-time jobs within the institution.”

“An enjoyable experience all in all, there’s only two buildings off-campus really which is emdeck or cookworthy, but they’re quite close anyways. If you hate hills, invest in an electric bike. Wide range of universities where I have seen many people in them passionate about making them fun for everyone. I’ve personally never had a problem with the wifi after I was able to connect. The careers service is mainly whatever you make of it really, though they are easy to find and there’s always someone there in office hours. I studied biomed last year and would say the best resource we had was the lab plus where you can practice practical methods.”

“The campus is on two beautiful sites, with the Catalyst building you an study 24/7 securely with amazing facilities on site. The location is ideal for students who want to go into town or want to be in the countryside. There’s a mix of all ages and the most important thing is the support you will receive here. As a disabled student I thought I would fall behind but I needn’t have worried - I have ongoing support from my lecturers and the last two years feel like five minutes it’s gone so fast. I would do it all over again I enjoy the mix of lectures and workshops we have, and I love the wide open feeling of the Leek Road campus because it never feels like you are hemmed in.”

The public facilities here are very new and very complete, there are study rooms, communal kitchen, laundry, gym, games room and so on, it is really worth it!”

“Swansea University, was just the best place for me to be! Starting from awarding me a full tuition fee scholarship and other bursary they awarded everyone. These really helped a lot of us that ordinarily would have struggled to pay our fees. Swansea University Library was so supportive with resolving any internet issues, helping us with any query on referencing, downloading softwares, a safe space for us to study and all. I must also commend the Swansea University MyUnihub and Student support for the speed with which they respond to queries. The tutors are also very experienced and dedicated to making us improve and are also very supportive. I can remember using school Laptop from the library which really helped me alot. Also the Student Union government are on top of their game with the go global initiatives and I took part in so many trips and I really enjoyed the trip to Birmingham, the trip to Oxford. The location of Swansea university is another plus with the beaches and all.”

“I’m going to the Perth college campus to study HNC Music. Perth for me is a decent size city of 50,000 people and there are plenty of shops and activities to do. Met loads of good people, although not enough international students, but a nice student body. I chose this course because it is a vocational approach to your 1st year in university and covers all the modules I need to work in the music industry.”

“UWTSD Lampeter: This charming university has picturesque surroundings. I was attracted by the tranquility of the mountains and countryside- a good place if you want peace and focus. There are a few societies and pubs nearby but it is not a 'party scene'. The classes are small which is great for participation, group work and contact time. The lecturers are very involved through the work of each student. I received excellent support throughout writing my dissertation and made good use of the well-stocked library. The university has strong links with China and a magnificent Chinese library. It is also has a high intake of mature students, international students and takes student wellbeing seriously. Overall, this UWTSD is a decent university, especially if you like quiet, prefer small group seminars to massive lectures with rooms full of people and want close guidance and support.”
