Middlesex University MA PHOTOGRAPH program is utterly useless. Virtually nothing listed on the MDX MA Photography webpage is accurate and for all intents and purposes nothing is taught (what I learned I did so entirely on my own initiative). When I approached the course leaders about my concerns, I was not merely rebuffed, they were flat-out angry that I dared to challenge or question their approach to the program. My follow-up feedback/complaint to the office of the chancellor of the university was equally squashed despite the fact that I laid out specific details. On balance, I also submitted a list of suggestions for improving the course. In short, stay away from MDX MA Photography. You have been warned. read more

Great facade to invite students in. Enrollment process is actually super simple and the grade requirements aren't actually that strict. Once you are a student though it's a completely different story. Little to no support throughout your study, lecturers don't bother replying to emails or give a very vague general comment on the class forum without any actual indication to the resolution of the problem. Extremely disappointing and definitely not worth the thousands of pounds you need to spend on getting the qualifications. read more

I’m in my first year. It’s a 50/50 mix of theory and practical. The theory is a lot about writing and film history which is useful but can get boring. The practical stuff is the best, we get to use a lot of equipment and experiment. Work load isn’t too much at the moment. read more
