MMU has been the best step in my life! The staff are amazing and I receive so much support to be able to thrive on my course. Being in a new city can be daunting however with the support from MMU, I have built up more confidence and feel excited for the future. It feels like one big family and the course has so many opportunities to develop in ways other universities don’t.

The main benefit of my degree is that there is a very clear job at the end of it. I have my dream job ready for September after I finish my teacher training. Covid impacted the content of my course massively so I do feel I missed out on a lot because of that. Placements were amazing and I learnt so so much. A lot of material is repeated and sometimes feels like 'common sense', but I suppose this makes the course a little bit easier to get done (assuming you engage with what the uni provides you with). I am on track to get a 1st in July but I do feel this is mostly due to the effort I've put in and not necessarily due to the course content/lecturers. We have had only 3 or 4 lecturers across the whole three years that I've been really impressed and engaged with. I think if you want to be a teacher and are prepared to put in the effort, you will do well and get your dream job. Your uni course might not be the most memorable experience, though. read more

I have enjoyed my course so far, this year we have had to deal with 18 days worth of strikes which hasn’t been great and my personal tutor has not always been in however we had the option to attend other tutors lessons and they let us know if they were striking the next day even if it wasn't until 10pm. However, I must say tutors have been understanding of all this including my new health issues and they have helped me set up a personal learning plan and teams meeting check ins or emails. Lecturers are very friendly and knowledgeable about their field which you can’t beat it makes you motivated to do them proud. read more
