Really interesting degree, learning from cutting edge research. Good job prospects, but perhaps not as excellent as some other degrees. Excellent building and mostly good teaching. Very good personal tutor, though others sometimes were much less lucky. Reasonable value for money since we have high contact hours and use lots of lab resources read more

Materials Science and Engineering, BEng Hons FullTime

Materials Department seems to hate its students. Never adheres to the deadlines that it sets for itself. (e.g when grades come out, when optional module/project sign up links are active etc.) Has no counseling services. When emailed, course directors very rarely reply. Lecturers are professors with no training whatsoever in lecturing. There are some good ones, but majority just recite the slides and are unable to explain concepts to small minds like ours. Personal tutors barely every see you, course content is boring even if you love sicence. Job prospects aren't great, company's don't see this degree as a real science or engineering degree. read more
