Honestly, I found this place as by chance on Google last year. I was living at Pittville and it was honestly extortionate. I thought this place was a scam at first haha because it looked too cheap! I go to Francis Close Hall and I was stunned at how close it is, I hardly even walk to my lectures I'm so close. I can roll out of bed so close to my lectures lol. But when I viewed this place, I was absolutely amazed by the friendliness of the staff and the size of the room and amenities! I was a little apprehensive about a single bed since I'm chubby but honestly it's spacious and can fit two people as well if you don't mind cuddling haha. But the room is HUGE! And the bathroom is SO spacious too, there isn't a lot of storage room in the bathroom (like a cabinet) which i did see one in the viewing but i don't mind that too much and just put my stuff on the floor in a box. However, the bedroom has PLENTY of storage and all the wooden fixtures are super high quality and thick. CHEAP!!!

I have lived in a few student accommodation buildings over the years and I must say that Shaftesbury Hall is by far the best. From student experience to cleanliness of facilities and everything in between, Shaftesbury Hall is an amazing place to stay. To top it off Shaftesbury Hall has the most helpful, kind and amazing staff in the form of Athena and Cerys who are there to assist residents every step of the way. Athena and Cerys are welcoming and very professional which I feel enhances the experience of residents, especially those far away from home.

I was looking for an amazing student community of both local and international students, not just another accommodation, and Shaftesbury Hall provided just that. It boasts a vibrant student community and offers great value! The spacious rooms come at a lower rent and are conveniently located near the FCH campus and Pittville Park, providing an exceptional experience. Additionally, it is close to shops, train stations, and bus stops. The customer service was excellent, especially from Athena and Cerys, who were always prompt in responding to queries and resolving issues. Overall, the staff were fantastic! They organised enjoyable events like game and pizza nights and were always helpful. It was a wonderful place to meet other sociable students, thanks to the friendly atmosphere and small parties organised by the staff. I made some really nice friends!!! In conclusion, it was a memorable experience!

It was good. The rooms were spacious and cheap, a few issues but issues that were fixed easily and readily by maintenance. Relatively close to the train station and the town centre, with a shop right on the edge of the street. Food deliveries could be a bit annoying due to the placement and the lack of one street address and the chains not recognising it. Was able to get a job while living here making sure people were checked in and not locking themselves out of their flats by accident too. It was fairly good though and I'd recommend this accommodation to people studying in Cheltenham or Gloucester since it's right next to a campus. Though, with studying in Bristol and having to be at the other side of Bristol at 9am, it can be a long trek. But yes, good overall! And the staff who work reception are lovely too, they organise so many things like game and pizza nights for residents and its all very fun.

Its a nice place to live, especially if a gloucester student however as a UWE student the travel price + distance does get quite hard however the Accommodation itself is very nice good for its money

Amazing place to live in. Staffs are all friendly and engaging. They started helping me even before I moved in here, specifically Athena helped me a lot with signing and paperwork. The location is quiet and peaceful, perfect environment for students. It's full of students who have been really social, outgoing and helpful. The staffs put on huge effort to arrange small parties for us every once in a while which is fun. Management is good too. The place is safe and secure for living. Rooms are nice and tidy. High street is only 5 minutes away from the accommodation, really convenient for shopping and going to social events. The bus stations can be found on High street as well, train station is about 20 minutes walking distance. Overall memorable experience living here!

I was never actually living in halls but most of my friends lived in Shaftesbury and they liked their halls.
Good halls, however the only social space is the kitchen, which is not comfortable. Also very expensive.
Not many social spaces, and quite expensive...however, perfectly located in walking distance from town, and super close to classes.
Comfortable, modern halls but needs a communal space other than the kitchen
I loved my experience in halls, Shaftesbury was right on campus for me and I met some of my best friends there!
