Adult Nursing, BSc Hons FullTime

Very poor University. Don't bother asking for support as you will be ignored. No academics to teach the course, just nurses moving into teaching. Lecturers not turning up to lecture and this is disguised as a 'schedule change. Bullying in placements and University turns a blind eye. Horrific experience as a student. Tied into the course due to the way they work out the funding so if you decide to leave, you'll be well out of pocket with no other course prepared to take you as the first year learning is poor. Avoid at all cost and consider a degree apprenticeship instead. read more

Adult Nursing, BSc Hons FullTime

Overall the adult nursing course needs improvement. There is very little support for writing assignments and the marking system is pure pot luck depending on who marks it. It is beyond abysmal. Adult nursing essays are marked inappropriately by children's nurses, learning disability nurses and any other available person regardless of whether they have been an adult nurse or not. The statements made through speech bubbles are often contradictory, sarcastic and rude, considering an essay has clearly been well researched and based on what has been taught in lectures. Nurses must practice evidence-based so the essay responses put in speech bubbles are opinion stated as fact. A student feels mislead and left with impotent anger at this ungoverned and unstandardized method of marking. It is a very unprofessional way of marking and does not inspire confidence in so-called experienced health professionals and it a profoundly grotesque, unfair and unjust marking system. Disgusting. read more
