Adult nursing course is a great degree, the lecturers are lovely but just be prepared for hard work. 50% of the course is placement which will exhaust you, 3 12.5hr shifts a week in which most wards are annoyed to have a student to teach is not easy, you have to be very committed. You will be at uni over 2 months longer each year then other courses and will have very little time off even when your not on placement. It is an exhausting yet rewarding degree.

I really enjoy the course, however i do believe there should be more fundamental skills in place for students who havnt worked in healthcare before. I also find some lectures are too long and it can be hard to stay concentrated read more

My personal tutor has been really good and helpful. I personally didn’t really find the lectures that engaging as it was just information read off a PowerPoint and could be easy to get distracted but I think the lecturers are all very passionate and that definitely shows. A lot of the people in lectures just talked constantly which was kind of annoying. I didn’t like how far away you are put for placements, they offer accom if it’s far out but that would be my worse nightmare being shoved in a b&b alone for 8-10 weeks so that’s worth bearing in mind. Some people were put as far as Abergavenny but you are aware that you’ll be doing placements for this kind of degree. read more
