Initially first year was hard as I wasn’t really open to stepping out of my space but I had made up my mind that in 2nd year things would be different and thankfully at Freshers fair, I was united to the best Christian Society on campus BLW, where I’ve found my friends and my relationship with God has deepened as well through coming into this society. I also signed up for Salsa which has been a dream of mine for years now and I’ve had so much fun learning different styles and techniques of learning this dance. I’m grateful that the uni has provided us with so many clubs and society to join. read more

Brunel is not worth it! Accommodation is a premium and your getting old, crap buildings. Internet is okay, but depends what building. Other facilities are also old and rubbish. Student support and student union okay but nothing to write home about. Teaching and Student satisfaction is low rated for a reason!!!!!!!!!! Little support, no listening to students, crap lecturers and issues with anything is completely disregarded. Maintenance is constant on campus with no notice to residents given (and no reduction in rent for noise and access issues). For context, final year law student, who's lived in Mill, Fleming, Isambard and Faraday. Would not recommend for the experience or facilities at all. Save yourself the hassle and do not attend here :) Only positive, great sports teams and sports facilities - if you're interested in tat or a sports degree would be worth looking at. As with nearly every uni, the students are not the priority at all - in any sense of the word. read more

Brunel was really good for the additional opportunities I received as well as my course. They offered me a bursary to support me with my studies due to being from a low income household and an opportunity to participate in a funded internship programme. This definitely helped with my employability skills. read more

Much worse than I expected, please do not go here!! The campus is quite small and in much need of renovation. The buildings are so worn out and old, the least they could do is repaint the walls. It really makes you wonder what the university is doing with all the money they earn from us. The lecturers are okay, majority of them just read out from PowerPoint slides so they don’t really help much. The people that go here are super weird so you end up preferring to not talk to them and be alone. It’s hard to meet new people too because everyone mainly commutes. The university campus is really inconveniently located, it isn’t even in the main high street town, it’s a 20mins walk to get there. Everything from the campus is so far. Alongside this, you’re an hour away from central london so travelling gets a bit tiring and expensive. The social life is the worst, there’s nothing to do nearby with friends. The town itself is a bit sketchy, doesn’t feel that safe even during the day. read more

Staggering in how badly run everything is. They just want your money and do the bare minimum to provide teaching e.g. no course material provided. Campus is ugly brutalist poured concrete that makes you ill to look at. Racially diverse in other words racially segregated, 90% of my school is on a visa. Campus is out in the sticks. Central London is an hour and a half by train + 15 minutes bus ride to campus. read more

Brunel is not student oriented at all. I am currently doing a Msc in Psychology and I wish I had never enrolled at Brunel’s. You have lecturers for each module and markers, who contradict each other on what they expect from you. The lecturer gives you instructions, which are then penalised by the marker. However, according to lead tutors you cannot appeal academic judgements! For mature students with children, forget your Summer break as their schedule is worked for the convenience of lecturers rather than students. They have weekly assessments, which you can do and submit for feedback. This would be helpful if the feedback was consistent across lecturers and markers. They also have a system of pre recorded lessons in addition to online lecturers, which helps making some material easier to understand. read more
