This accommodation seemed on the expensive side compared to some of the other options, however, it is definitely one of the most modern available, the staff were always pleasant and responsive and there amenities available such as the washing machines and laundromat were right opposite which was very helpful. I really enjoyed my time in Wedderburn and would not have wanted to choose any other accommodation.
The room is nice and has a surplus of storage space for us to use and the kitchen has all the basic neccecities you could require for cooking. The social areas are cleaned by staggering once a week to a high degree and we are held responsible for maintaining that cleanliness throughout the week. The only real social space for my flat is the kitchen and it's not used often. The prices are extortionate.
The rooms are good, the bathroom is more of a wetroom but is still good. The wifi, however, is utterly horrible and the ethernet doesn't work
Super modern, comfortable, aesthetically pleasing and lovely to live in
I had a great year living in Wedderburn! This is one of the more expensive places to live but I felt as though the rooms themselves were worth the price when you compared them to other halls on campus. The double bedrooms had plenty of space and storage and a generously sized en suite. The kitchens were a good size and were great for hosting pres, not so great for tidying up but ours did get cleaned partly every Friday. When we were there a few things in the kitchen broke and they were replaced immiediately with no fuss so we can't really complain there. Also I was on a top floor flat so heard basically no noise ever. The flats were easy to get to everything on campus especially medicine on a Monday but were also far away enough for little noise. I would definitly reccommend living here!
Very expensive (6.2k for 38 weeks, it's going to be 6.4k in 2017/18!) Internet wasn't very reliable, but I used ethernet for my console which made it better. I never used the common room, and didn't know we had one for the first month. Cleaning was an issue as students often refused to take out the bins, leaving them until the flat smelled. Otherwise I loved the accomodation, and would choose it again if the above issues were resolved.
The rooms are spacious and well laid out with a large desk to work on, put your speakers on or makeup on, the wardrobe is big but you'll need to fold up a lot of clothes. The en suite is more of a wash room and water spreads easy in there. The kitchens are big and cupboards galore. The cleaner will only clean if the kitchen is clean and will probably sing and hum as she bashes the Hoover into your bedroom door. They don't mind partying as long as you keep the hall tidy and check with hallmates first. Didn't use the common room as you have to sign into it. Housekeeping are lovely staff very friendly. Wifi is brilliant.
The room is lovely and spacious as is the kitchen. The lights in the kitchen can mean that the cupboards get warm sometimes. The cleaner doesn't clean but housekeeping staff are very friendly.
Great place to stay to meet friends and have fun parties.
The double bed and ensuite are amazing! I never had any problems living here. It's quite secluded from the rest of campus, which is actually a good thing as it means its quieter, and security are less likely to come down there if you're having a party etc. It's in quite a green area as well, which I liked. The only downside is that there isn't anywhere to socialise except for the kitchen.
Double bed and a big table are decent. Bathroom is a wetroom and sink doesn't flow properly most of the time. Not worth £6.2k. Cleaners do a great job cleaning up. Wifi is slow everywhere in general. Halls is less than 10 minutes away from lectures.
Good location Expensive New and clean No social space e.g. No common room
Fire alarm went off too often, and at inconvenient times, security would always be late to come and sort out situation. Maintenance was unsatisfactory. Music could be heard from Medicine
Only problem is the signal on your phone
Nice, clean, modern halls with a great community and fast internet.
Really nice and has a community feel. However a sofa would be nice.
I reported my broken door 3 times and it still isn't fixed. It's a trek to get to lectures in the morning and get home at night. I thought it would be quieter here but you can hear the sports teams yelling 24/7. I have a great set of flatmates though which is probably the only plus.
Loved it there - will miss it this year
Brilliant living conditions, overall experience completely depends on your flatmates, sometimes it can feel a bit isolated due to no real communal space 15 min walk from anywhere on campus
It's expensive but you are in Surrey, with a double bed and an en suite so? This pricing can be understood but personally it should be cheaper- there should be car parking too for all!
Loved the year I spent in Wedderburn, had 2 massive flat parties and loads of small ones. Hall is away from the security so very rarely disturbing the fun we had. This hall would have been so much better if it had a social room/area.
Good vibe, small community away from rest of the halls of residences
A really spacious and lovely sized room with a massive bed (with underbed storage), large corner desk and a great en suite. The social spaces lack slightly as the kitchen can be a tight squeeze for gatherings but every makes do. Usually lots of sociable people and if you are looking for a party you will always be able to find one however, the location makes it ideal for quiet time as being just out of the centre of campus means there is a great deal less noise!
Fantastic rooms, really comfortable double beds with en-suites. It's expensive but you definitely get what you pay for. The staff are very reasonable and won't blame everyone in a flat for one person's untidiness. Overall fantastic, the only issue is the mobile reception but that's because of the location - which is worth it!
Great location, frequent fire alarms
Spacious rooms with double beds. Wifi isn't fantastic and the cleaner is rude and comes early and makes loud noises with the hoover against the bedroom doors and wouldn't let me cook when she was in the kitchen. The management team of Wedderburn are really helpful and solve your problems quickly.
Really nice halls, but they're expensive. Wedderburn and Gowar are practically identical to Butler, Tuke and Williamson, but are located further away from the rest of campus (sometimes good, sometimes a literal pain after a long day). The "common room" isn't actually one, it's something you have to book, but there's a nice grassy area between Gowar and Wedderburn where you can sit down.
On the pricey side, but nonetheless you are paying for a good sized room complete with double bed and ensuite. The kitchen is shared between eight flatmates, providing a nice social space and probably the easiest way to make friends once you arrive on campus. The kitchen and communal areas are kept clean (with the exception of of course of the dishes which are your own responsibility) by friendly cleaning staff and to our surprise they also take the rubbish out for you! The slight downside to this hall is that it is further out of the centre of campus compared to halls such as Tuke or Butler but still costs the same price.
At the bottom of campus, both good and bad. Quiet but long walks. However at least it's on campus. expensive, not covered by my loan. Have a cleaner come in every week day and he cleans the kitchen and empties the bin which is really good. Don't even think there is a common room to be honest.
They'd turn the heating off a fair bit to 'fix it' but it was quite welcome really because the majority of the time it felt like the Sahara desert in there. The cleaners didn't really give a s*** but you can deal with it because, for a student, you're living in luxury. Huge beds!!!! Heated bathroom floors!!!!!!!! And an ensuite which doesn't look infested!!!!!!! You're living the dream really.
Unforgettable time. Wish there was more of a social area - living room in each dorm.
Had a great time loving here, a little quieter being just off of main campus. Great atmosphere!
Great halls! Only downside is the hobs need to be labelled you can get confused as to which dial goes with which hob and that has resulted in a fire for my flat. Apart from that love it. Its so close to the sports centre and the gym. If you do sports it's really well placed.
Unlike many other universities, we were not allowed to have people over after 11pm. You would expect that as young adults they would not set us rules that we did not even have a home. Moreover, our common room was everything but common, as we were only allowed in it if we booked it. I would rather call it a boring room, as it only had chairs, and it could only be used during early hours. Also, there were no events to facilitate the socializing aspect of living in halls. These, and several other issues, made me never be in my halls. Facilities wise, it does have nice rooms, but its legislation weakens this aspect.
The halls were expensive for what they were, given the bathroom was not a bathroom, and the bath was communal which is unhygienic. However, it was a lovely location and a nice room.
Max comfort, great sized rooms and communal kitchen, but no common room and its the furthest hall from main part of campus
amazing facilities feels like a hotel room!
too expensive to far away from library too noise Resident Assistant was not helpful
Clean, happy halls in a beautiful environment with en suite and everything you need for your money.
I loved this accommodation and was so sad to leave!
I love wedderburn. It's in a quiet location with a great social vibe.
Loved every minute of being here, the privacy compared to other halls is the key factor as well as the community area between Wedderburn and Gowar.
